Privacy Policy
Effective November 4, 2026
Shoulder Tap is run by Sandbox Platforms LLC (“we”). It’s in testing and isn’t released yet. This policy covers the Shoulder Tap app and shouldertap.me. We’ll publish a fuller policy before the app launches.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and password (stored in scrambled form).
- Profile details: your name, age, gender, username and anything else you add, such as photos or a bio.
- Location: your phone’s precise location, while the app is open and only if you allow it. We don’t track you in the background.
- What you do in the app: what you post, your votes and ratings, your settings, your friends and blocks, your messages, and reports and support requests.
- Safety and security information: such as a scrambled code made from your internet connection, the general areas you’ve been in, unusual location changes, and automated safety flags.
- Crash reports: what went wrong, your app version and your phone model.
On this website, our providers receive standard technical information such as your internet address and browser details. A security check on sign-in pages also sees that information. The site has no advertising or tracking cookies. If you email us, we receive what you send.
How we use it
To run the app, show you what’s around you, keep people safe, stop spam and abuse, fix problems, answer you, and meet legal duties.
Who can see it
- Other users: see what you post and your profile, depending on your settings. They see only an approximate location for you, never your exact one, unless you choose to share a more precise spot with your friends.
- Our team: staff see what they need to handle reports and support. The people who run the company can access stored data, including messages and location, and do so only to run, fix or protect the service or to meet a legal duty.
- Automated checks: private messages are checked automatically for threats. Staff see a short excerpt only if a message is flagged.
- Companies that work for us: database and hosting, website and security, maps, email delivery and company email, and app building and updates. They use your information to provide those services to us.
- Legal and safety: we may share information if the law requires it, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect someone from serious harm.
- If the business changes hands: your information may transfer to the new owner, including to a new company we set up to run Shoulder Tap.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t show ads. We don’t track you across other websites or apps, so we don’t respond to “Do Not Track” signals.
How long we keep it
We keep only your latest location, not a history, and delete it after 24 hours without an update. Safety and security records and crash reports are deleted after 15 to 90 days. Other information, such as posts and reports, generally stays until you delete it or your account, and some may stay longer where safety or the law requires it.
Your choices
You can turn off location in your phone’s settings, hide from the map, edit your profile and settings in the app, and delete your account at any time. To see, correct or delete your information, email privacy@shouldertap.me.
Age
Shoulder Tap is only for people 18 and older. If we learn someone under 18 has an account, we’ll close it and delete their information. To tell us, email privacy@shouldertap.me.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and post the new version here, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
